This is a photo of our 20 acre non-irrigated hay field. The ponds in the background are connected to the Columbia River. The field isn’t irrigated but the water table is close enough to surface the orchard grass and alfalfa hay roots are able to reach water. There was a huge fire in the hills south of the field the night before this photo was taken and it’s still pretty hazy from the smoke.
