Soil fertility is an important part of producing high quality grass hay.
Every time we harvest a cutting from our hay fields it removes some of the nutrients from the soil. Soil testing tells us about soil health, what nutrients need replenished and how much to apply.
Today we applied phosphorus to our fields. As it washes into the soil over the winter it will feed and strengthen the grass roots. We like keeping our fields happy and healthy!
