The fields are greening up, the wild Rio Grande Tom turkey is strutting for his ladies and the birds are singing with joy. Spring is coming! It’s hard to believe it’s already time to “spring forward” with Daylight Savings Time this coming weekend.
With the large amount of moisture we received over the winter the fields will have a good start. We applied organic compost this winter which returns organic matter and nutrients to the soil in a form that is readily useable to the plants.
In this photo you can see where the layer of compost has been applied in the darker area. All of the fields received this coverage.
