Excitement on the farm today!

May 6th, 2019

We did cut-in on the fields today.  We cut the first 2 swathes of the edges of fields.  This allows us to get the fields ready for the actual cutting by giving us a good edge to work with and a place to turn the discbines around.

1st cutting is extremely tall and thick.  So tall it’s as high as one of the grandchildren is tall!

Our pink twine was also delivered today!  Buying pink twine helps support breast cancer research.  It’s a win-win for everyone!

1st Cutting is Coming Soon!

The fields are ready to be cut!  We turned off the irrigation yesterday.  It always takes longer for the fields to dry and be ready to cut for 1st cutting because nights are still cool.   Mother Nature willing we should have hay ready for you by or before the end of May.  Check back for updates!

Easter Sunday

April 21st, 2019

We hope everyone had a beautiful Easter.

Farmers don’t get days off this time of year.  One of the pivot end guns had to be replaced today.  So – into the bucket and up in the air to reach it!

As you can see in the picture, the hay fields are a deep blue green.  They’re very happy!
